For the second time this week a state government budget has revealed the damaging effect of Tony Abbott’s health cuts - this time in South Australia.

In the words of South Australian Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis:

"Cuts of this nature from the Federal Government are a game-changer in how we deliver health services in this state… we can’t absorb these cuts and just continue to provide the same services in the same way we have done in the past.

TREASURER TOM KOUTSANTONIS BUDGET RELEASE– 19 JUNE 2014

The Abbott Government’s $80 billion cut in funding to schools and hospitals is a clear broke promise from a government that promised no cuts to health.

The South Australian Budget confirms that the Commonwealth contribution to South Australia’s health budget is expected to almost halve.  It also confirms the Abbott Government’s ‘savage cuts’ amount to $655 million over the next four years alone.

Tony Abbott lied when he said there would be no cuts to health and now every Australian is going to pay the price.

Tony Abbott is the only person who still believes there are no cuts to health in the Commonwealth Budget.
