I remember now, after Petersen resigned near the end of
1987 and Wayne Goss leading Labor to a great victory in the 1989
State Election how happy and exhilarated I was, this newspaper
cartoon I saved from that period says it all. I was so relieved
that the tyrant had gone. All I could write on it was “It's over”
and you know what that just about said it all!
After
what we went through in Queensland, now Newman and the LNP wants to reduce the effectiveness and power of the Crime and Misconduct Commission anti-corruption watch dog for their own benefit, they are taking us back to the bad old days of the Joh years.
